Nordiska Musuem, Dinner at Lappis.. (GOod!)

My breakfast for today.. IKEA pizza n sausage..


didnt take any pics of the Nordiska museum.. but its a pretty interesting one, showcasing the Swedish lifestyle from shoes, houses, dresses and festivals etc..
after this visit, we went to a park in Djugarden which is the island we r on now.. where we had a mini sushi picnic.. one of SC Jap friend brought some sushi.. took some pics of geeses walking around us..



After this brief picnic, we proceeded back to Lappis.. i borrowed a bicycle from SC friend and SC, LL n I rode to a newly opened branch of PrisXtra.. apparently there r some offers there n since we r cooking dinner tonite, we have to get ready our ingredients.. its been a long time since i rode a bicycle.. fell quite a number of times.. haha .. nvm we got out ingredients back to Lappis where we prepared a sumptous meal of crepes and macaroni cheese..

we bought this super big sausage as one of the ingredients..



Busy busy.. so many things on the kitchen table.. flour, cheese, milk, milk with 40 fat to make cream, onions n stuff..

we were super full after the meal.. by the time we start eating, ita around 9pm liao.. we took a long time preparing.. shagged.. after the meal ,we proceeded next to SC place where his friend from France, Jacqueline was preparing apple crumbles.. it was good but i m too full to finish it.. we finish off the nite with a movie, Elektra.. but it was getting very late for IRene, Jiakai n me sicne we r staying quite far away thus we left early in the movie...

LL n I were waiting for our lab partner in the library.. There was a buffet held for KTH staff in the library.. the food there looks pretty good haha.. i was sitting at a bench waiting when i was approached by this lady with a "University Adminstrator" who asked if i wanna take th food in the buffet.. apparently they cant finsih the food n the function end lioa... when i get to the buffet, there was still like more than 3/4 of the food left.. wat a waste..

After this lunch, we met up with our professor for Image Processing for evaluation of our project.. he was pretty easy going n fine with it.. haha LL kep gushing abt how shuai he is.. ok lah quite good looking..

in fact i m starting on my personal project of trying to keep a rugged look after seeing SC, Eric not shaving n having that rugged look.. haha try smt new

"Relief" Package arrived, Class Excursion to Sodermalm

yep.. finally my "relief" package has arrived.. it was sent from Singapore on Monday and it had arrived here in Stockholm on Thursday.. very fast but expensive though by Speedpost.. abt 90+ SIng for the first 5kg..

the package contains txtbks that were too ex to buy here, 2 travel guide books that we lost during our Easter trip (we have to buy back to compensate the library.. cheaper to buy in Singapore n ship over) and haha some food n flavorings to cook my chicken with..

However, one of the maggi mee packet broke apart.. leaving mee everywhere in the box..


After collecting my package from the postman, I proceeded to school where LL, the Iceland guy n I r having a project discussion for Image Processing.. then we left for our class excursion at Sodermalm.. the guide tok pretty interesting stuff but he tok too slowly n despite being Spring now, it still felt very cold, with the cold wind blowing from the sea.. (Stockholm is situated by the Baltic Sea, and we r at a place pretty near the sea so we felt the full effect of the cold wind.. brrrr..)
didnt managed to take much pics but this is a pretty nice place.. may come back later

After this excursion, we proceeded home.. i decided to heat up food that i tabao from DS to eat.. nice spaghetti..

Image Processing project.. interesting..

Wat we r supposed to do is to capture some images from the webcam in our teacher's office remotely using Matlab.. we were supposed to detect whether there is a train by using the Matlab to code a program that can tell us that..

luckily we found one more person from Iceland for our group who had pretty good knowledge in Matlab.. so he taught some tricks for Matlab.. we managed to thus complete the project finally.. hehee.. we made use of an accumulative difference method.. we subtract subsequent frames of image from a reference one.. so that we will get a product image of just black n white dots.. basically a digital image is made up of small dots called pixels each with a certain number corresponding to their color n brightness.. if the same color (i.e the same number) minus each other off, we get zero = black.. thus things that r on the image that did not move will yield zero from the subtraction.. moving stuff will yield white color..

but first, we convert the image to greyscale for easy processing..

we improved the Matlab so as to get rid of some of the grey specks in the picture known as noise..

basically anything that moves shows up as white pixels after the subtraction.. so moving cars n moving ppl could also show up in the picture.. we thus make our Matlab to calculate the number of white pixels n if its big enuff to be a train, it PROCLAIMS: There is a train!!.. haha nice.. phew finally done..

Busy busy busy week..

Yah nothing much happened on Monday.. attended some boring classes.. got to get down to my Image Processing project asap.. its due on Thursday n its Tuesday now!!.. haha LL n I had not a clue on how to start it.. we had the theory in our head but coding it in Matlab.. seems tough.. haha we try loh..

took some picture of this toilet in school.. smt pretty strange in Sweden is that toilet cubicles have a sink themselves.. there r more sinks outside.. ok i sound pretty confusing now.. haha .. first u go into a toilet, then there will be sinks n mirrors n urinals n also cubicles.. within these cubicles, there is a sink as well each.. it was observed that Swedes if they wanna beat the system of paying 5kr to go into public toilets by sharing, they tend to go inside together instead of one guy or gal waiting outside for the other person to finish their bizness.. once we saw 2 gals going into the toilet to use it at the same time,.. hmmm kinky.. haha..
















Went to the De Silvas to have dinner after our project discussions.. pretty good meal of spaghetti.. a million times better than the ones i cooked.. haha
While on the way back home, the train station was flooded with ppl going the reverse direction of me.. escalators going in my direction were stopped to allow this ppl to go in the reverse direction.. the escalators on their side were flooded by ppl.. it was very packed.. n they were wearing Hammaby soccer jerseys.. i guess they were coming back from a soccer match somewhere.. some were chanting n singing their team songs.. abt 2-3 police were following them to maintain order.. they had their riot gear on standby as well..



was doing a quick survey of my socks when i found this pair.. this pair was the one i wore for the Easter Euro Trip.. wow it was so worn out.. from all the walking i guess.. the see thru part in front of the sock wasnt deliberate.. it was worn out in front , behind everywhere .. haha

Took the bus 670 all the way to Vaxholm island.. one of the idyllic islands in the Stockholm archipelago..

The Vaxholm fortress.. unfortunately its closed now.. will be open in June.. it was built in the 16th century to fend off the Russians and the Danes from Stockholm..

We went to Battery Park.. posing on top of a disused bunker. This area, i tink, contains most of the island's defensive coastal batteries..

When we went in, we found a note on the table that says that the shop owner is in the garden.. wow thats very trusting of her to jsut leave her shop open like that with no man tending to it..

Back to Stockholm..

Nothing much to see in Vaxholm.. but it sure is a refreshing retreat from the busy city life.. after this, we proceeded to IKEA where we did some more grocery shopping b4 going back home..

After uploading the pictures to my laptop, i realised that my camera had taken its 10000th (yeah i didnt add in another zero by error.. its ten thousandth)picture today
n i only just bought this camera b4 i came to Sweden so i have taken abt 9000+ pictures during my SEP.. nice.. haha guess how many pics we took while on our 21 day Easter Euro Trip? .. there r abt 3GB (Gigabytes)+ of pictures in total.. luckily i brought a laptop along for the trip...
