Valborg!! Part 2: Picnic n Hat Ceremony...

After the end of this watercraft competition ,we walked around Uppsala.. everywhere in Uppsala is in a festive mood.. stores selling food, handicrafts r everywhere..

We met up with Irene who just arrived at the train station.. woah.. this statue has a really really big one.. haha

We bought some food from Netto, supermarket.. Dom n I bought a 50kr kebab which includes a can of coke as well.. Alex bought a pizza for 45kr..
We went to the place around Uppsala Slott.. everyone is having a picnic n chilling out there.. along the way, we see lots of ppl drunk from partying n boozing..


Ppl could be seen peeing in the bushes as well.. basically its chaos...

It was drizzling but it didnt dampen the party spirits of the Swedish..

We proceed next to the front of the Carolina Rediviva for the hat ceremony.. at 3pm the principal is supposed to wave his hat n students, present n past will wave their high sch graduation caps together as well to signify the coming of spring.. the students, past n present will bring their summer caps n gather here at Uppsala for this ceremony.. everyone will sing a Swedish song as they wave their caps.. i tink it signifies spring is coming..

Look at the rubbish all around... a very unlikely sight in Sweden.. an even more unlikely sight is to see ppl finishing up their beer bottle n just throw it on the floor in public.. or finish up their food n throwing the wrappers on the floor just like that.. haha its just only for today..


We proceeded back to stockholm after hearing from the locals that there wont be a bonfire in central Uppsala but only at the outskirts.. this is due to the fact that most ppl in this university town r students.. n they would rather spend their nite partying then to watch wood burn... so its not such a big event here.. we could see it back in Stockholm so we took a bus back..
