Boat ride to Tallinn, Estonia

Had a brief presentation for our Image Processing Lab 2 this morning, followed by its tutorial.. but most of the time daydreaming cos' excited of the trip coming up in a few hours time.. haha

We booked two 2 man cabins for our boat trip to Tallinn, Estonia. It costs only 95kr per person, cheapest so far. The boat was operated by Tallink. The reason why it is so cheap is that we r going on weekdays. so bo bian have to skip some lessons. not much lah n not very impt ones as well.. hehehe.. making up excuses.. :P

After checking in and passing thru the Swedish border control, its OFF TO THE BOAT... as the sign indicated.. haha

Dom, Alex n me decided to each pool 10 kr each n try out the jackpot machine, any winnings we shall split.. it costs 1kr (S$0.25) to play once, thus we could play for 30 times hoping to strike big.. indeed we did win but not much.. at one time, we won back our investment of 30kr + a few more kroners.. but our greed led us to continue playing... our superstitous thinking led us to switch machines everytime we win back our investment.. haha we switch 2 machines before finally losing it all...

So Tallink, the boat operator was pretty clever, give us this offer of cheap boat ticket to entice us on board n make us give back money in other forms.. haha
ok, U R GOOD.. so far u took 10kr (S$2.50) from me.. never mind!!
we went out for a short walk again.. a even shorter one, the cold was unbearable but i managed to sneak some pictures of the islands..

we went back to find that the blackjack table had started.. haha its only Blackjack, shldnt be too difficult to win money.. hehe
so here we r..

i invested 100kr.. minimum bet is 20kr (S$5).. well.. it was a rollercoaster ride.. i was UP n then DOWN n then UP n then finally down.... sigh.. the dealer was pretty fast n i never played blackjack in an actual casino with real dealers before.. so it was pretty stressful... n i was being dealt the cards first.. so not much time to think.. haha i won back my investment of 100kr + 10 or 20 kroners before losing it all again.. haha.. ok loh..
so now Tallink took 10kr + 100kr = 110kr from me liaoz.. which is more than my 95kr boat ticket... sigh..
the roulette table.. nah i didnt try this one.. minimum bet is 5kr.. according to Dom, the roulette wheel is hard to predict because of the movement of the boat..

Anyway if anyone said to try the buffet dinner in this Tallink cruise.. DONT DO IT!!.. it costs 200kr!! and we walked around to take a look at the food.. rather pathetic.. nothing spectacular.. another way for Tallink to get money from its passengers.. luckily we didnt try..no way m i prepared to fork out 50 Sing dollars for a meal...
After this casino trip.. we went back to our room where we chilled out n tried to study a bit.. i brought some notes.. surprisingly, i was able to study more than i could in my room with all those distractions such as teh Internet.. u must be tinking WAT.. come cruise then study in the room.. yah but the boat facilities r really pathetic.. not much to do anyway.. we did went out to watch some show in the SHow Bar.. hehe.. its was pretty good.. girls scantily clad dancing away.. n it was fun as well.. hehe there was one part when the girls r dressed up Moulin Rouge as can-can dancers with their large skirts.. they would go around n cover unsuspecting guys in the front row with their large skirts!! COOL!!.. haha, the girls change clothes with every change in their dance theme.. interesting.. MUST SIT IN FRONT ROW DURING PERFORMANCES ON THE RETURN TRIP!! haha might just get lucky
yap this lasted only 30 min then we went back to our cabins to sleep liaoz at around 1230am...
