Nite Phototaking on Gondolen

Received this email below from our course lecturer last nite on Monday.. haha.. our group was scheduled to have a system demonstration on Tuesday.. but luckily..

Hi all,

Tomorrow, Tuesday is the deadline for
demonstration of the system you have developed in
the course.

Unfortunately the cold I had has developed into
pneumonia and the doctor strongly urged me to
rest at home.

Therefore I have to postpone the system
demonstration some days. I suggest that the
demonstration is done Thursday March 3 at 9. If
both groups are there at this time we can have it
done in time before the oral presentations at 10.

well ok loh.. our system demo postponed til then.. haha anyway i not very sure that our system will work fine yet..

Met up with LL n Dom at Central Station Mac where they had a set meal for dinner.. i cooked some spagehetti for dinner b4 coming.. We r supposed to exchange some Euros for use in our Easter trip.. haha..

After which we proceed to Slussen where we plan to take some nite photos.. accoridng to Dom, the temp tonite is abt -14 degree celsius!!.. wah!! luckily i wore 4 layers of clothing tonite.. one thermal shirt, one normal shirt, one sweater n finally one coat.. i had a feeling taht its gonna be cold tonite so i wore more.. usually i dont wear my thermal shirt.. just 3 layers.. heng ah..

We plan to go to Gondolen, accoridng to Dom, its the highest pt in Stockholm.. ermm ok loh..
dont noe wat the 1655 means.. could be the time.. but no leh.. its 8+ pm now.. Dom tried to smoke us saying that its the number of ppl taking the life up today.. diaonz..
This is an old lift from 1936 that goes up to Godolen restaurant and also the heights of Slussen. At the top one can walk across a bridge which gives wonderful views of the city. It's covered with protective side wire to save people from falling so photos must be taken from between the wires. The bridge leads out onto the street next to Södra Teatern and Mosebacke Torg.

What is ridiculous is that the lift costs 10kr for adults!!! diaonz.. for just a short lift ride of like a few seconds.. there is a lift operator inside... when we stepped in, he said 10kr each pls.. erm ok loh.. he closed the lift door liao n we r inside so no choice loh.. anyway 10 kr (S$2.50) cant even buy a proper meal here not even a hotdog by the street loh (usually 20kr) but i noe can buy MEE POK back home.. i misss the mee pok in SIngapore so much.. When we reached the top, turns out that its possible to get up free but have to walk some distance.. ok lah next time day shot of STockholm scenery!!

My plan tonite was to come here to practise my night photography so that when i go to Paris later i could get nice pics.. tried learning from the photography master, Dom abt aperture size n shutter speed.. ok i tink i write down here in case i forget..

Less light, either increase aperture size or increase the exposure time.. F5.6 is the smallest aperture size F2.8 is the biggest.. (it works in reverse) usually 1 sec exposure is enuff.. when its 1s exposure, the subject shldnt move for 1 sec.. i accidentally adjust it to 15 sec in one photo shoot w/o knowing it.. then i was wondering wat happened to my camera, processed for so long.. n the result is as shown below.. overexposed..

haha she complained she look small in the pic on the left as compared to the right ermm ok loh






















the pic on the right for LL was a success for me.. finally able to capture smt w/o blurring it.. tried so many times shooting so many things on my stupid tripod.. my tripod is spoilt as well.. my bao pei camera dropped 2 times from it.. heart break ah.. lcukily nothing mcuh happened..

first time in my life, that i paid to take a lift.. its called the Katarina Lift..
The Katarina Lift, Stockholm, was first erected in 1883. This much loved feature of the Stockholm skyline was demolished in 1933 and rebuilt two years later. The lift has two cages and takes you 38 meters up to the old streets of Mosebacke.

Its so freezing cold tonite so high up on the Gondolen.. by the time, we r ready to leave the Gondolen.. my hands r numb already.. mucus keep flowing from my nose.. dont Eeeee me.. this happens when u r in such a cold environemnt.. its not just me loh.. Dom n LL as well.. haha
