Not yet 23.. sigh.. Almost smashed by snow..Lappis Dinner.. what a Day..

My new SL pass for this mth.. bought it a few days ago.. Green color one diff from last mth's one.. actually there r a number of ways to beat this heavy transportation fee of 600kr for public transport per mth if u dare..

here r my observations..
Bus drivers merely just look at the SL pass for the dates so one can just easily print out a new time period to stick on the pass...
Note that for tunnelbana travel, travellers would normally just swipe their card across a reader n push the barricade to cross n when they wanna get out of the station, they need only to just push the barricade(no need to swipe card) since travel between any stations is of the same price regardless of distance.. Thus, from what i seen, some cheat by pulling the barricade towards themselves (simulating ppl coming out of the station) n slipping thru the space n wah la they r through...


on the tunnelbana to go Ostermalmstorg, there is someone playing the accordion in the train.. n someone playing the cello in the station
buskers again.. haha this has never happened in Singapore.. maybe in the stations but never on train.. they would be chased off immediately..

Anyway my main objective today is to go Silija Line to book the tickets to Helsinki next Friday..
but while on my way there, I was just a few metres away from being smashed by snow falling from the balconies of a tall building.. wat happened is that i was walking, being careful to avoid walking too near buildings (because of danger of falling snow)
when suddenly i heard a loud crash of ice on the floor.. i turned back n saw some ice n snow had fallen where i had just walked thru.. wow.. phew.. wat a relief.. usually wat comes crashing down is from balconies like this one where the accumulated snow n ice is hanging perilously..

anyway i got into the Silija Line.. n enquire abt the tickets.. turn out for weekend cruises, we need to be above 23 years old.. heard that such cruises r so called party boats.. the main pt is not Helsinki but the party on the boat.. yah unfortuantely none of the 4 of us is even 23 years old yet.. closest is Dom who was born in October 1982.. aiyah just 8 mths short.. if there was one of us who is at least 23 then maybe we could get thru the application... ok loh



after that I walked around Ostermalamstorg a bit b4 meeting Gavita for our project in sch..

Swedes pronunced K as Ko.. T as deh.. H as hall.. thus my uni, KTH is called (Ko-Deh-Hall).. anyway NK is a very big shopping centre in the region..

Pictures of a park.. note the 3 small patches w/o snow.. those r manholes underneath.. i figure it could be due to the manhole emitting hot air melting the snow.. i m only guessing.. so i could be wrong.. i also dont noe why it would emit hot air.. haha

After the short walk around Ostermalamstorg, i went for my project meeting... after which i proceeded to my lecture in Alba Nova.. (a long 15 min walk.. )n of course i took some pics along the route..

After my lesson, LL n I went over to Lappis (the place where they r staying) to cook dinner with DOm n Eric.. took a pic of the Bus schedule since i m gonna stay over there til quite late.. the buses r super on the time.. when it says they r coming on 2158.. it means they leave the bus stop on 2158.. if they reach the stop too early, the bus will just park down there til 2158 b4 it moves on..

By the time we reach, Dom is already cooking his pasta.. n i cooked Simon's specialty fried rice.. haha they r not using rice cooker to cook rice unlike me.(i brought a mini rice cooker over) so dont really noe how to do it.. the rice seems a bit soggy though..

Pasta by Dom, Tofu soup by Samantha, Fried Rice by me, Bolognase by Eric.. LL's broccoli looks pretty bad.. thus we r not eating it n its not on this table.. (LL learned smt today.. that vegetables (broccoli) shldnt be left in the freezer haha..)
